Close Win Moves Vikings to 80-64
|
The Minneapolis Vikings racked up a win at Legednary Park, bumping off the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 7-6. Benjamin Jones, who started for Minneapolis, pitched effectively for his team. Jones, now 5-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. The Vikings improved their record to 80-64 with the win over Phoenix.
Minneapolis used the hitting of Dante Cuadra to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Vikings on top, 7-4. For the game, Cuadra had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
