San Francisco Tags Houston with 3-1 Defeat
|
In a low-scoring contest between the San Francisco Friars and the Houston Aquas, George Roscoe was the X factor. The San Francisco left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. Chris Mayea converted his 13th save in 14 tries. The second-place Aquas have lost 4 straight games.
Bryce Gekas, who is tied for 10th in the WC in stolen bases with 38, had a direct impact on the outcome. Gekas contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put San Francisco up, 3-1.
"I like what I saw today," said San Francisco manager Erich Weatherholt, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
