The Los Angeles Stars handed the Boston Greens a sound defeat, 16-2, at Stars Ballpark. Mike Bishop was a main contributor to the win. He went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for Los Angeles. Tadeu Carneira, the winning pitcher, is now 7-1. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 2 hits, while fanning 11 and walking 4. With the victory, the Stars record stands at 24-17.
Dennis Videaux had a big 2-run home run for the Stars in the bottom of the first inning. With Los Angeles trailing 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a cutter from Chris Johnston, who leads the EC in wins with 6, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 2-1.
Said Boston manager Matt Glazer: "We got bush whacked."
