Vikings Make Thunderbirds 6-5 Losers

The Minneapolis Vikings did just enough to secure a victory over the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 6-5, at Legednary Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Peter Rook. Johnny Wickwire was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 13 of 17 save opportunities. Minneapolis now sits in 4th place in the Western Conference Eobanus Burger Division at 64-80.
Ken Odachowski dealt the Thunderbirds a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with runners on 1st and 3rd and Minneapolis leading 5-1, Odachowski, who is tied for 7th in the WC in triples with 6, hit a 2-1 cutter for a run-scoring single.
"I liked his command," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan. "Peter was throwing strikes."
