Cincinnati Grounds was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Cincinnati Twins and Washington Senators.
The Cincinnati Twins eked out a 3-2 win versus the Washington Senators at Cincinnati Grounds. Nobody did more than pitcher Julio Carpinteyro. He was terrific. Avery Slade got credit for the save for Cincinnati. It was his 11th of the year.
Alex Sierra, who finished 4th in the EC in home runs with 37 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Cincinnati in the bottom of the first. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Julio doing his thing just hyped us all up," said Cincinnati manager Ryan Stoops.
The third-place Twins now have a win-loss record of 72-72.
