Laca goes 3-for-5, Leads Cincinnati to 14-7 Win
The Cincinnati Twins took on the Washington Senators at Cincinnati Grounds.

Cincinnati catcher Eloy Laca was instrumental in helping the Twins triumph, 14-7, over the Washington Senators. Laca was 3-5 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Danny Bickel earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 3.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-2.

Had Mario Contreras not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Contreras hit a 2-run double. That made the score 8-6, in favor of the Twins.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Contreras told the Cincinnati Chronicle.

The third-place Twins sport a record of 73-72.
