Philadelphia Gets 5-4 Road Win
|
The Philadelphia Spectres and Havana Metropolitanos played an entertaining game for Estadio Latinoamericano patrons.
Despite a great performance by Havana first baseman Willie Flores, the Philadelphia Spectres defeated the Metropolitanos by the score of 5-4 at Estadio Latinoamericano. Flores went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Divino Aljeroz sewed up the save, his 11th.
Ron Gideon was 1 for 4 with a walk for Philadelphia. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Joyee Cameron. It was his 107th walk of the season.
"It never gets old," said Gideon. "Winning, that is."
Philadelphia now has a record of 77-69 with the win.
