The Kansas City Athletics downed the Minneapolis Vikings, 10-7. The hitting star was first baseman Kamakana Aniani. Aniani went 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Athletics. Eduardo Leon came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The first-place Athletics hiked their record to 84-63.

Henry Sosa had a big 2-run home run for the Athletics in the top of the third inning. With Kansas City leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Hawes and punished it. The result was his 28th home run of the season, which put the Athletics on top, 4-1.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Aniani told the Kansas City Chronicle.
