Wolves Turn Back Denver, 3-2
|
The Vancouver Wolves earned a win at Fox-Chong Park, stopping the Denver Glaciers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Jarrod Beckman played a big role in his team's success. Beckman yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 8-8. Manny Arango got credit for the save for Vancouver. It was his 3rd of the year.
The Wolves got a big at-bat from shortstop Manny Roman. For the game, Roman was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Vancouver a 2-0 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Vancouver skipper Zach Meinen.
The setback makes Denver 83-65.
