Twins Sink Cyclones, 10-3
|
Spirited fans greeted the Miami Cyclones for their clash with the Cincinnati Twins.
The Cincinnati Twins pinned a convincing loss on the Miami Cyclones, 10-3, at Kroger Stadium. Mario Contreras was a main factor in the win. He went 3 for 6 with 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for Cincinnati. Tony Hernandez earned the win for Cincinnati. He lasted 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 8-9.
The Cyclones had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Twins going into the top of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Elvin Perfecto came to the plate. Perfecto hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 changeup from Miami hurler Victor Alonzo. It was Perfecto's 3rd double of the year.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Contreras.
The Twins, at 74-74, inhabit third place in the Eastern Conference Muldoom O'Mulmohery Division.
