The Denver Glaciers scored a tight 5-4 win versus the Portland Dragons at Portland Park. Denver pitcher Cursive DeMarco held his own in the contest. Denver reliever Jeff Swets picked up the win, upping his record to 10-3. Willie Bravo shouldered the loss. Roberto Renteria recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 1 for 4.

Denver used the timely hitting of Diego Valtierra to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Glaciers on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I was a little disappointed," said Portland manager Greg Carpenter. "We could've and should've scored more runs."

The Glaciers, at 87-63, sit in second place in the Western Conference Ricardo Icamén Division.
