Spectres Hang 6-3 Loss on Rangers
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Buffalo Rangers and Philadelphia Spectres get after it.
Philadelphia left fielder Geri Rengifo helped his team beat the Buffalo Rangers, 6-3. Rengifo, who is tied for 9th in the EC in hits with 152, went 3 for 3 for the Spectres. Savino Dore was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Scott Franczak earned the save for Philadelphia, his 28th of the year.
The Spectres got a big at-bat from designated hitter Alderaan Pike. For the game, Pike was 3-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 35th double of the season gave Philadelphia a 2-0 lead.
Pike called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
