The Havana Metropolitanos defeated the Baltimore Kings by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Alex Zendejas. Zendejas was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for the Metropolitanos on the day. Joyee Cameron, the winner, improved to 6-1. He held the Kings to 3 runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Tso-i Mak was credited with the save for Havana, his 2nd of the season.
Cristovão Alvelo, who finished 5th in the EC in doubles with 46 in 2083, had a timely hit in the top of the fifth inning. With two out and a runner on 2nd, the Havana center fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Metropolitanos in front, 4-3.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Alvelo told the Havana Times.
The defeat makes Baltimore 20-21.
