Stars Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
The Los Angeles Stars rode a solid performance from 28-year-old starting pitcher Danny Serrano to a win, beating the Denver Glaciers, 1-0, at Stars Ballpark. Getting the save was Raiko Leon, his 11th. Los Angeles bumps their record to 26-19 with the win.

Los Angeles third baseman Kenny Sturdivant contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 6th hit of the season and put the Stars ahead, 1-0.

"The old adage is true," said Sturdivant. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
