Alaska right fielder Tillmam Velado had a good game, even if his team did not. The Kodiaks dropped a 7-4 decision to Kansas City at Ballpark of Missouri. Velado went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winning pitcher was D.J. Harkins. He tossed 97 pitches over 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. Getting the save was Chase Kessler, his 6th.
Kansas City took a 7-4 lead on Matthew Hinojosa's 4th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Hinojosa hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Alaska pitcher Juneau Beauchamp visibly frustrated.
