Sam Cone had a hand in Minneapolis defeating San Diego by the score of 11-5. Cone went 2 for 4 at the plate, scoring 3 times and driving in 2 runs. Minneapolis goes to 30-16. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.

The Destroyers had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Vikings going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old designated hitter Gentaro Arakawa came to the plate. Arakawa hit a run-scoring double on a 2-1 sinker from San Diego hurler Chris Whiffen. It was Arakawa's 15th double of the year.

"This team is real focused right now," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.
