|
Starting pitcher Danny Rangel was a major factor in the 7-1 Miami Cyclones triumph over the Havana Metropolitanos. The winning pitcher was Rangel, now 4-3. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 2. The 'W' lifts Miami's record to 18-28.
Chris Hodges had a big run-scoring double for the Cyclones in the top of the first inning. With Miami leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Mark Bursey and swatted a double to center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cyclones ahead, 2-0.
Said losing manager Kevin Mayerhofer: "We just didn't get it done tonight."
