In a low-scoring clash between Washington and Houston, pitcher Pablo Alvarez was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 2-0 Senators win. Alvarez got the win, improving to 4-5. He gave up 1 hit and walked 0 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Getting the save was Rogelio Domínguez, his 11th.

The Aquas had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Senators going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old left fielder Danny Mrazek came to the plate. Mrazek hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 fastball from Houston hurler Slider Brooks. It was Mrazek's 6th home run of the year.

"Pablo was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Washington manager Nate Strauman.

The Senators saw their win-loss record go to 23-25. At the same time, the Aquas fell to 17-30.
