Arrows Turn Back Los Angeles, 3-1

The Seattle Arrows got a magnificent performance from pitcher Alex Zapien, who muffled the Los Angeles offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Arrows win at Stars Ballpark. Zapien, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 1 walk. Felipe Diaz picked up the save, his 2nd.
Ryan Jarnagin, who is a two-time All-Star, aided the Seattle cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the catcher went 2-5 with a double.
"That was a really good outing by Alex," said Seattle manager Dr. Jay Siber.
The last-place Arrows improved to 18-30.
