Destroyers Saddle Athletics with 7-2 Loss
San Diego turned a good effort from starter Keaton Bozek into a win over the Kansas City Athletics at Seaward Stadium. The Destroyers won the game, 7-2. The winner was Bozek. He threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Gerald Tanton. At 25-24, the Destroyers find themselves in third place in the Western Conference Eddie Izurieta Division.

Carlos Tenorio had a big grand slam home run for the Destroyers in the bottom of the third inning. With San Diego leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a sinker from Gerald Tanton, who finished 2nd in the WC in wins with 17 in 2082, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Destroyers on top, 6-1.

Said losing manager Joe Monagle: "Give the Destroyers credit. They played a better game than we did."
