Riding the 3-hit performance of the 26-year old catcher Loo Xiu, the Havana Metropolitanos defeated the Brooklyn Browns, 5-2. Ricardo Alas picked up the save, his 8th. The win makes Havana 24-24.

Havana center fielder Cristovão Alvelo contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the ninth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 29th hit of the season and put the Metropolitanos ahead, 5-2.

"This was a total team effort," said Xiu.
