Another Day, Another Win for Vikings
|
Minneapolis Vikings starter Jose Madrid hurled his team past the Portland Dragons, 2-0. Katsuo Nozawa was credited with the save for Minneapolis, his 1st of the season. The current losing streak for Portland has reached 5 games.
Minneapolis used a well-timed hit by Omar Ozoa to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Vikings ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
Afterward, Vikings manager Ace Cooan was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
