Floundering Dragons Lose 6th Straight

The winning streak continued for Minneapolis.
The Minneapolis Vikings knocked off the Portland Dragons, 9-2, at Portland Park. Joe Bird hit 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 2 runs. Minneapolis, having won 10 in a row, is now 35-16.
Travis Turton drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Minneapolis. The 25-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Danny Monroy. It was his 4th walk of the season.
Said losing manager Greg Carpenter: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
