Angels Edge Past Friars, 2-1
|
The San Antonio Angels got a magnificent effort from pitcher Sebald Peters, who kept San Francisco hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Angels win at Staples Field. The win gives the Angels a record of 44-109.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Cosmo Rothman's at-bat in the top of the 13th was vitally important. With no one out, the San Antonio shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 2-1 lead.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said San Antonio manager Brandon Coroian.
