Browns Earn Late 5-4 Win
The Brooklyn Browns picked up a win at Veeck Park, downing the St. Louis Gaedels, 5-4. On the mound for Brooklyn was left-hander Alberto Vasquez, who played a pivotal role in the win. Chris Jimenez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 6-1. Brooklyn, at 86-68, occupies second place in the Eastern Conference Zach Gavula Division.

An inflection point occurred with two out in the top of the ninth. That's when Browns pinch hitter Allen Lafontaine hit a fastball from Brent Lannin for a 2-run single. Just like that, Brooklyn was up, 5-4.

After the game, Lafontaine refused to speak to a reporter for the Brooklyn Observer. "You've accused me of throwing teammates under the bus," he said. "So, excuse me if I decline to answer your questions."
