Losing Trend Continues for Miami
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Boston Greens and Miami Cyclones came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Boston Greens beat the Miami Cyclones, 4-1. Boston pitcher and Burlington, North Carolina, native Javy Alejo led the way. Alejo yielded 1 run over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 11-9.
The Greens got a big at-bat from center fielder Ruben Vega. For the game, Vega went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 19th home run of the season gave Boston a 2-1 lead.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Chris Stephan told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
Boston, at 81-73, occupies third place in the Eastern Conference Zach Gavula Division.
