Vancouver Loses, 5-3, to San Francisco in 11
|
The San Francisco Friars picked up a win at Fox-Chong Park, taking down the Vancouver Wolves, 5-3, in 11 innings. On the mound for San Francisco was left-hander Kiyohiro Kaneshiro. He played a central role in the triumph. San Francisco goes to 75-81, Vancouver to 69-87.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bryce Gekas? The 23-year old center fielder Gekas stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put San Francisco up, 5-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"Kiyohiro made some big pitches when he needed to," said Friars manager Erich Weatherholt.
