Athletics Beat Stars, 6-2
|
The Kansas City Athletics picked up a win at Ballpark of Missouri, taking down the Los Angeles Stars, 6-2. Starting pitcher Justin Samsel was a big reason why. Samsel went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 8. His record improves to 4-5. At 61-95, the Athletics claim last place in the Western Conference Eobanus Burger Division.
Making an impact for the home team was Andy Wetsch. In the bottom of the fourth, the 24-year old center fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 3-1, Athletics.
"Justin made his pitches," said Kansas City manager Joe Monagle.
