Minneapolis Dispatched, 3-2, by Tucson
|
Vismay Falcon pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Minneapolis Vikings, despite Falcon's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Tucson Toros at Minneapolis Grounds. Taxi Sabala picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-15. He struck out 2 in 7.1 innings. Cody Sosnowski got credit for the save for Tucson. It was his 36th of the year.
Tucson used a clutch at-bat from Martyn Gheldere to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Toros ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan, "let me know."
Tucson is 4th in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division with a record of 82-75.
