Friars Deal Aces 5-3 Defeat
San Francisco Friars starter Alex Mijangos pitched a strong game against the Las Vegas Aces at Staples Field, leading the Friars to victory, 5-3. Jeff Boffa earned save number 40 this season. The second-place Friars lifted their record to 86-73.

Ruven Luevano hit a 2-run home run off Jose Covarrubias in the bottom of the first, which put the Friars ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Luevano had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"It was a solid team effort," Mijangos said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
