Juggernauts Get Clutch Win Versus Phoenix
|
In a low-scoring clash between Toronto and Phoenix, pitcher Daniel Taylor was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 3-2 Juggernauts win. Reliever Fabian Estrada picked up the win. His record improves to 7-3. David Klontz took the loss. With the win, Toronto goes to 76-82, while the Thunderbirds fall to 62-96.
Matt Salmon, who led the EC in extra base hits with 94 in 2079, helped out the Toronto cause in the top of the eighth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the designated hitter was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Daniel was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Toronto manager Marc Arnold.
