Choi Helps Stars Defeat Athletics, 12-7
With second baseman Han-lee Choi leading the charge, the Los Angeles Stars defeated the Kansas City Athletics, 12-7, at Ballpark of Missouri. Choi was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. The win went to Victor Marquez in relief, making him now 2-0. Arturo Covarrubias took the loss for Kansas City. The 'W' lifts Los Angeles's record to 83-76.

With Los Angeles leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Choi hit a fastball from Arturo Covarrubias for a grand slam home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Stars ahead, 5-0.

"We're producers not directors," said Choi. "Produce a good swing. Can't direct where it goes."
