Phoenix 2-1 Losers to Athletics
|
Kansas City Athletics starter Al Joly turned in a sterling performance against the Phoenix Thunderbirds, leading his team to a slim, 2-1 win. Chase Kessler closed the game out for Kansas City, earning his 29th save. Kansas City, at 92-68, occupies first place in the Western Conference Duviel Zaldivar Division.
Kansas City took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Eddie Simon hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Athletics.
"Runs were at a premium," said Kansas City manager Joe Monagle.
