A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the St. Louis Gaedels and Baltimore Kings.

St. Louis starter Ben Ford put the Baltimore offense in a vise grip. The left-hander relied heavily on his changeup in leading the Gaedels to a 6-0 win. Ford got the win, improving to 12-8. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs.

St. Louis won the game in part because of Mike Villa. The center fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Gaedels ahead, 5-0. For the game, Villa had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We came in and did what we needed to do," said St. Louis manager Mak Dolnick.

The win puts the Gaedels at 70-90, while the Kings drop to 96-64.
