The Chicago Phantoms picked up a win at Foster Field, knocking off the Vancouver Wolves, 4-3. Starting pitcher Craig Kruppenbacher was a big reason why. Kruppenbacher got the win, improving to 17-5. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Their 98-62 record puts the Phantoms first in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.
Miklas Shervill hit a 2-run home run off Andres Carrasquillo in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Phantoms ahead, 4-2. In addition to the homer, Shervill had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Vancouver manager Zach Meinen.
