With Yosvani Melian leading the charge, the Buffalo Rangers defeated the Philadelphia Spectres, 9-5. Melian went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Rangers. Lupe Sandoval snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-1 on the season. Jeong Lee suffered the loss. The Rangers move to 89-71 with the win, while the Spectres drop to 82-78.

Melian contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Buffalo in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 5-4, Melian took a fastball from Jeong Lee and stroked the home run to left-center. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Rangers to leap in front, 7-5.
