Stars Beat Vikings, 4-2
|
The Los Angeles Stars racked up a win at Stars Ballpark, bumping off the Minneapolis Vikings, 4-2. Tadeu Carneira, who started for Los Angeles, pitched effectively for his team. The winner was Carneira. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Joseph Stark. Raiko Leon closed it out for Los Angeles, earning his 23rd save.
The Stars got a big at-bat from third baseman Bonaventure Moser. For the game, Moser went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 50th double of the season gave Los Angeles a 2-0 lead.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Los Angeles manager Pat Kaers.
With the win over Minneapolis, the Stars improved to 84-76.
