Harfangs Rebuff Browns, 6-5

The Montreal Harfangs and Brooklyn Browns obliged fans looking for a good time.
The Montreal Harfangs defeated the Brooklyn Browns, 6-5, in Eastern Conference action at Mount Royal Park. Montreal pitcher Dave Pineda had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Pineda, now 4-7. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 2.
Tied up with the Browns in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Harfangs got a boost from catcher Joseph Stulken. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Stulken saw a 1-0 splitter from Leonel Laffita and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Montreal on top, 2-1.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Pineda, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
The last-place Harfangs are 56-104.
