Juggernauts Handle Metropolitanos, Nab 8-2 Win
|
The Toronto Juggernauts and starting pitcher Antonio Avellaneda stifled the Havana offense en route to a comfortable 8-2 win at Molson Park. Toronto, at 77-84, occupies 4th place in the Eastern Conference Jossue Lopez Division.
In the bottom of the third, 2079 Rookie of the Year Award winner Matt Salmon hit a 2-run double. The 38th double of the season for the Toronto designated hitter put the Juggernauts on top, 2-1.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Avellaneda told the Toronto Daily News. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
