Friars Lose Versus Alaska, 6-4
|
Jae-ho Choe was instrumental in his team's 6-4 triumph over the San Francisco Friars. The center fielder went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 times for the Alaska Kodiaks. Quinn Topp, the winner, goes to 12-10. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6 innings. Jeff Amendola notched his 4th save in 6 chances.
The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from right fielder Tillmam Velado. For the game, Velado was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 40th home run of the season gave Alaska a 3-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Alaska manager Alex King.
