No one was more impactful than Da-xia Peng in an extra-inning, 10-4 Baltimore win over Cincinnati. Peng, who is tied for 2nd in the EC in triples with 4, went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The winner was Baltimore reliever Yasniel Ramirez, now 1-1. The loser was Phil Cromsie. Baltimore is now 27-27.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Tom Sarmiento came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Cincinnati pitcher Phil Cromsie, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Baltimore on top, 5-4.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Sarmiento.
