Friars Take Tight Tangle
The San Francisco Friars weathered a fine game by Las Vegas designated hitter Tan Tsung to upend the Aces, 8-7, at Western Coliseum. Tsung went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The win was credited to Chris Mayea in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Ricardo Riveron took the loss. San Francisco is now 28-27. Las Vegas is 29-25.

San Francisco used a timely hit from Gabe Castro to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Friars ahead, 8-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Castro, "but we got it done."
