|
Havana starter Bobby Alkire pitched well against the Montreal Harfangs at Estadio Latinoamericano. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. Getting the save was Ricardo Alas, his 11th. Havana bumps their record to 27-28 with the win.
Had Carlos Garza not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Garza hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Metropolitanos.
"We found a way to get it done," Garza said.
