Friars Trump Aces, 5-0

The San Francisco Friars knocked off the Las Vegas Aces, 5-0, in Western Conference action at Western Coliseum. San Francisco pitcher and Farnborough, England, native George Roscoe had an outstanding performance. In 6 innings, Roscoe surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. San Francisco, at 29-27, holds down second place in the Western Conference Michael Fridy Division.
Marcos Moreno had a big 2-run home run for the Friars in the top of the fifth inning. With San Francisco leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 16-year veteran B.J. Baker and swatted a home run to right. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Friars ahead, 4-0.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian.
