Gaedels Register 6-2 Win
|
Spirited fans greeted the Cincinnati Twins for their clash with the St. Louis Gaedels.
St. Louis Gaedels starter Andres Anguiano found his groove in his team's 6-2 win over the Cincinnati Twins. Anguiano, now 6-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Getting the save was Jesus Loyola, his 2nd.
St. Louis used the timely hitting of Tsuneteru Shimada to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Gaedels on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I was seeing the ball well tonight," said Shimada.
The win puts St. Louis at 38-20 this season.
