The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Aetna Stadium, knocking off the Tucson Toros, 5-2. Starting pitcher Juan Fonseca was a big reason why. Fonseca yielded 2 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 9. His record improves to 6-5. The second-place Stars now have a record of 36-27.

Dave Yerges came through with a big-time hit for Los Angeles. The right fielder smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 5-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
