Harfangs Saddle Avispas with 3-1 Loss
|
Both offenses were relatively subdued at Mount Royal Park. Fortunately for the Montreal Harfangs, though, Emilio Oregon was able to deliver in the clutch. He hit 2 home runs, to lead his team past the Santiago Avispas, 3-1. The win went to Tetsukazu Kaneda in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Julius Miller took the loss. Derich Rucker was credited with the save for Montreal, his 1st of the season.
Montreal took a 3-1 lead on Oregon's 9th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Julius Miller in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Montreal to the win.
"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Montreal skipper Brendan Henry.
Montreal currently is in second place in the Eastern Conference Zach Gavula Division at 33-29.
