Phantoms Deal Aquas 5-4 Setback
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Phantoms beat the Aquas.
The Chicago Phantoms trumped the Houston Aquas, 5-4, at Foster Field. Chicago first baseman Jose Buezo was terrific. He was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Vismay Falcon earned the win for Chicago. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 6-5. Getting the save was Cruz Ponce, his 15th.
Buezo contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Chicago in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 4-2, Buezo took a fastball from Slider Brooks and stroked the home run to left-center. His 15th home run of the season allowed the Phantoms to leap in front, 5-4.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Buezo, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Chicago is now 32-30.
