Mount Royal Park was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Benito Cossutta was nothing short of phenomenal for the Havana Metropolitanos. The 25-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Montreal Harfangs, 2-1. Cossutta picked up the win for Havana, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-6. Marc Hoyles recorded the save for Havana, his 2nd of the season.
Havana relied on the hitting of Sergio Folha to pick up the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put the Metropolitanos on top, 2-0. For the game, Folha had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Havana manager Kevin Mayerhofer said.
The Metropolitanos win now puts them at 33-31.
