Aces Lose, 4-2, as Friars Rally

Boosted by the 2-hit performance of Lyalya Markosiants, who finished 3rd in the WC in innings pitched with 212.0 in 2080, the San Francisco Friars defeated the Las Vegas Aces, 4-2. Chris Mayea, who is tied for 2nd in the WC in holds with 11, was the winner in relief. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Ricardo Riveron. Edwin Maes picked up the save, his 1st.
DeMario Custodio hit a run-scoring triple off Ricardo Riveron in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Friars in front, 3-2. Custodio had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Markosiants after the game.
The triumph puts San Francisco at 32-32 for the season.
